In 1991\, she was the only artist from the Central and Eastern Europe to perform at the special gala to commemorate the Century of Carnegie Hall in New York. In the same year\, the International Biographical Centre in Cambridge named her Woman of the Year 1991/92\, and in 1992 the American Biographical Institute declared her Woman of the Year 1992 and Most Admired Woman of the Decade. In 1993\, the London Institute for Applied Research awarded her a Doctor of Music\, and the Australian Institute for Co-ordinated Research conferred on her the Honorary Doctor of Musicology degree.
