DESCRIPTION:Creating believable dialogue.  A workshop\, suitable for all.      Create and craft your own dialogue or monologue scene.\n\n\nLet’s have some fun with dialogue. Inner/outer and reading between the lines dialogue – it all matters. \nIn this collaborative workshop (brought to you in conjunction with Words Out Loud ) we will explore the authentic voices of the character/s we create. \nWe will pool experience and explore the importance of character reactions and non-verbal conversation in different mediums. Then discover if the words we have put into mouths work when spoken out loud. Sue will bring sample TV scripts\, poetry that speaks\, and scenes created for the stage for inspiration and share some of her writing experience. But most importantly you will create and craft your own short dialogue or monologue scene to share with the group. Sometimes a small change and a bit of editing can make a big difference. \nCreating believable dialogue is an important skill in any writing toolkit. Manufactured conversations for the page\, stage\, TV or film scripts can sometimes seem a bit clunky\, which is such a shame because if you start ‘seeing the writing’ then you have lost the audience. None of us want that! \nPlease bring your inspiration\, notebooks and something to write with. Please also bring your own snacks/drinks. \n \nHope to see you on May 10th!

DESCRIPTION:Words Out Loud is holding a themed reading at The Anchor Bleu on the waterfront in Old Bosham village on February 13th  at 7:00 pm.\n\n\nThe wonderful setting and the historical (or apocryphal) reference to King Canute led Words Out Loud to choose Words at Sea as the title for this reading and to choose a theme (optional) of Seaside Romance (since Valentine’s Day is the next day). \nFood and drink is available at the pub with a special £10 menu available to those attending the reading with food available from around 6:15. You are invited to pre-order at 01243 573956 and we will take pauses throughout the readings so that food and drink can be brought upstairs.

Open-Mic starts at 6:30pm. \nJoin us for our regular in-person Open-Mic event downstairs at Franco Manca in Chichester\, West Sussex. We meet on the 1st Wednesday of every month. The event is free to attend and open to anyone\, but a £3.00 donation made on the door would be very much appreciated. \nCome along and read some of your own poetry\, a published poem or even read some prose. Franco Manca serve teas\, coffees and soft drinks as well as beers\, wines\, spirits\, cocktails\, pizza\, pasta\, salads and other delicious food. \nIt doesn’t matter if this is the first piece you have written or whether you are a seasoned pro\, you will find a warm and supportive welcome as you share your work with us out loud. \nAnd if reading out loud is not for you\, please do come along and enjoy the atmosphere and listen to the readings.
